West Cork Watercolour was set up by Barry Dawkes to provide first class watercolour painting courses, for all abilities, in the heart of scenic Cork.
We have been teaching watercolour painting for a number of years, and our watercolour painting courses have built up an excellent reputation in the local area and around Cork.
On location watercolour and pastel painting
Located on the south-west coast of Ireland, Cork is the largest of all Irish counties and to many, the most varied.
Cork is a region full of colour and contrasts that include some of Ireland’s most attractive and colourful landscapes. None more so that West Cork where its rugged coastline, picturesque fishing villages, quaint cottages and rolling hills, make it a paradise for watercolour painters, and our courses are designed to get the very best from this stunning landscape and your own talent.
Our courses cover both watercolour and pastel painting, with enjoyable tuition in friendly and stimulating environments. Our aim is to encourage all those who want to paint in beautiful landscapes among like-minded people.
The courses take place in and around the new fully equipped Studio at Crosslea, Castletownshend, just outside Skibbereen, overlooking the sea.
This picturesque coastal setting will allow for both studio painting and, weather permitting, outdoor painting of interesting and stimulating local scenes.
All our watercolour and pastel painting courses are restricted to a maximum of six students, ensuring a good level of personal tuition.
